City of New Castle
Town Clerk The Town of New Castle is seeking a dynamic professional with municipal experience to serve as Town Clerk. The Town Clerk’s responsibilities include administration of all Town Council business, oversight of records management, elections, business and liquor licensing, and other official municipal requirements. The job requires a commitment to public service, well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated progressive and customer oriented management style, and considerable independent judgment. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business management, records management, public administration, or a closely related field; A Master’s Degree preferred. Requires a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible experience in Public Administration and/or related municipal responsibilities. A Municipal Clerk Certification is desirable. Deputy City Clerk The City is seeking candidates for Deputy City Clerk. The Deputy City Clerk will work closely with the City Clerk to maintain official City of Federal Heights records including but not limited to: ordinances, resolutions, minutes, public notices, correspondence, contracts, agreements, plats, liquor licenses and legal documents. This individual documents, catalogs and maintains official city records and prepares indexes and guides as to locating reference material and records. In addition this position will assist in the preparation of materials for City Council, Federal Heights Redevelopment Agency, Liquor Licensing Authority, Board of Adjustment meetings and other official functions. The Deputy City Clerk will assist the City Clerk in all aspects of preparing for and conducting municipal elections and be responsible for responding to questions pertaining to the election process. Clerical duties include: writing correspondence, status updates, data entry, faxing, coping, maintain meeting schedules and making appointments for elected officials. The Deputy City Clerk transcribes and prepares City Council meeting minutes as needed and will conduct research, summaries and reports on complex issues. Other clerical duties may be assigned as needed. High school diploma plus minimum of three years clerical or administrative experience required. Municipal Clerk certification is desired.
