2013- President

Wendy Heffner, CMC City of Littleton
 
Wendy has held the City Clerk position for the City of Littleton since June 2008.   Prior to Littleton, she was elected as City Clerk in the City of Idaho Springs in November 1997 and was reelected in 2001. She was the City Clerk/Court Clerk from September 2004 to June 2008 for Central City.
 
She has been a CMCA member since 1997.  She has served on the Ways and Means Committee, Co-Chair for the Education Committee in 2008 and Vice-Chair for the Awards Committee in 2010.  As one of the Education Chairs, in 2008, she completed the applications for certification point approval from IIMC for each class at the 2008 Fall Conference (Winter Academy) so CMCA members were able to receive certification points for each class attended for the first time. She earned her CMC in 2004 and is working towards her MMC.She received the award for “Outstanding Contribution to CMCA” in 2008.
 
Outside of work, Wendy spends time with her husband and three children.

Kerry Bush, MMC City of Englewood

 

Kerry Bush was hired in 2005 as the Deputy City Clerk and COOP Administrator for The City of Englewood, Colorado.  Kerry is honored to have received the CMCA Most Service to a Municipality by A Clerk or Deputy Clerk in 2008.  The year 2011 was a very productive year for her as she received her MMC, the Athenian Fellow, and graduated from Metropolitan State College.  Kerry became the first person in Colorado to achieve the Athenian Dialogue Fellow.  Kerry has been listed in several Who’s Who publications.  She is a Certified Elections Official, and has received certifications from NARA and FEMA.  Kerry taught Records Preparedness classes in several states as well as via the Internet as webinars.  She is involved with IIMC committees: Mentoring, Membership, and Records Management and with CMCA committees: Education, Records Management, and tries to help on the Website Committee.  She is a member of: ARMA, AIIM, and SRMA, in addition to IIMC and CMCA.  Kerry is currently working on obtaining the certification from NAGARA and has been reviewing the technical bulletins for IIMC.  Kerry taught the three levels of Records Management courses at the CMCA Institute as well as several On-the-Road workshops.  She hosts training for the Secretary of State as well as for State taught liquor awareness classes.  She recently completed her CERT certification and has completed the Englewood Citizen’s Academy.  Kerry is honored to be asked to facilitate three sessions at the IIMC Annual Conference in 2013

Patti Garcia, CMC -Town of Windsor

 

Patti Garcia started her work in municipal government in Winter Park, Colorado in August, 2004 as the Deputy Town Clerk and Municipal Court Clerk and was appointed as Town Clerk in 2006.  In August, 2008, she moved to Windsor, Colorado to continue her career and was appointed as Town Clerk and also serves as the manager of the Administrative and Customer Services Department for the Town of Windsor.  Patti received her CMC designation in 2009 and has participated on the scholarship and education committees.  She is currently enrolled at Ashford University and will complete her BA in Public Administration in December, 2012. 

 

Patti has been married to her husband, John Garcia, for 27 years and has three children who have all “flown the coop”; one recently graduated from college and the other two are currently enrolled at Denver-based universities.  In her free time, Patti enjoys riding her bike, skiing and reading.

Sharon Washington, Deputy City Clerk
 
Sharon Washington has been employed with the City of Greenwood Village since January 2009.  Sharon began working for municipal government in Highlands Ranch as an Executive Assistant in June 2002. 
 
She has been a CMCA member since 2009.  She is currently serving on the Website Committee, Vice Chair and has served on the Membership Committee as the Vice Chair. 
 
Sharon has been married to her husband, Robert Washington for 27 years and has four children, and four grandchildren.

Suzanne Leclercq, Deputy City Clerk

 

Suzanne Leclercq has been employed with the City of Woodland Park since 2011.  She enjoys being involved and serving CMCA! As a new Clerk she feels like she represents a lot of the new Clerks and would like to show them they even though we are new Clerks we can still be involved and serve.

Deb Forbes, MMC, Director of Finance/City Clerk, City of Sterling

 

Deb has been the Director of Finance/City Clerk for the City of Sterling since 1998.  She has been with the City of Sterling for 25, starting out as the Police Department secretary, and then moving to the Finance Department where she served as Account Clerk, and Administrative Asst./Deputy clerk until moving into her current position in 1998.  

Ms. Forbes has been active in the Colorado Municipal Clerks Association since 1991, serving as committee member and/or vice-chair and chair for the Scholarship and Audit committees.  She is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Kiwanis Club of Sterling and the Logan County Crime Stoppers.

Nancy Varra, MMC, City Clerk, City of Lousiville

 

Nancy Varra, MMC has been employed with the City of Louisville since 1973, where she has served in many capacities including Deputy City Clerk, Court Administrator, Payroll Accountant, Executive Assistant to the Planning Director and Records Manager.  In 2000 Nancy was elected as City Clerk, but also retained the title and responsibilities of Court Administrator. With the passage of the City of Louisville’s Home Rule Charter, in 2002, the City Clerk position became an appointed position. 

 

Nancy holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication from Regis University. Her professional association memberships include: Colorado Association for Municipal Court Administrators; International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and the Colorado Municipal Clerk’s Association.  She served on the CMCA Award Committee in 1998, the Web Committee from 1998 – current, the Education Committee from 2007 - current, serving as On-the-Road Coordinator from 2007 – 2008, and Co-Chair in 2009 - 2010. Nancy received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation in August of 2000 and her Master Municipal Clerk designation in January of 2009. In November of 2008, Nancy was the honored recipient of the Colorado Municipal Clerks Association’s “Clerk of theYear” award .
