Happy 2015 CMCA Members,
First and foremost, thank you for the opportunity you’ve given me to serve as your president this year. I am honored and will do my best.
2015 will be a year of transition for CMCA. Changing our association from CU Boulder to Regis University is one of the most substantial changes we’ve made in many years. Contracting with Regis University will allow us the opportunity to offer more quality educational programs to our members. Regis University wants to work with CMCA on our Masters Academy education programs as well as Train the Trainer. Regis, through their own plethora of classes, will offer discounted accredited courses to CMCA members as well. Look for more information after your Education Committee holds its annual meeting on January 22nd.
I want to reach out to not only the new clerks and their associates, but also to the longer-term clerks who have so much to offer this association. I want to revive the “Dusty Gavel”, a group of CMCA past-presidents, and ask for their help and advice on how to make this association grow and meet the needs of its members.
Each and every one of you is the reason CMCA continues to grow and move forward. I’m asking each of you to become involved this year. Please take time to go to the website and read the latest news, review the Handbook and find out which committee you can best serve. No matter how small or how large your contribution is to CMCA, it is important.
I want to add a special thank you to your Immediate Past President Kerry Bush, who let me tag along with her to every meeting, view emails, and ask question after question, trying to learn this job. She was patient, kind, supportive and a great teacher. Thank you.
Again, thank you for this opportunity. I’m looking forward to a busy and fun-filled year.
Margy Greer, CMCPresident
